Jacob Collier (born August 2, 1994, in London) is an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and educator.
Raised in a highly musical family, he grew up surrounded by classical and jazz influences. Collier first gained international attention through viral YouTube videos in the early 2010s, where he performed multi-instrumental and multi-vocal arrangements of popular songs.
In 2016, he released his debut album In My Room, recorded and produced entirely at home, playing every instrument himself. The album earned him two Grammy Awards and established him as one of the most innovative young musicians of his generation.
Collier’s most ambitious project to date is Djesse, a four-volume series launched in 2018, exploring a wide range of styles — from orchestral to electronic, folk, R&B, and world music.
His arrangements are marked by complex harmonies, microtonal experiments, and interactive live performances that often involve audience participation.
To date, Jacob Collier has won multiple Grammy Awards, collaborated with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Coldplay, and Quincy Jones, and is celebrated worldwide for pushing the boundaries of contemporary music.
