Andres Rot is an accomplished bassist, composer, producer, and educator whose musical journey spans continents and genres. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he discovered the bass guitar at a young age and was soon performing professionally while still in his teens. He later moved to the U.S. and graduated with honors from the Berklee College of Music, where he earned awards for outstanding performance and composition.
Rot’s style blends jazz, world music, Latin, Afro-beat, and experimental elements. He has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and the Blue Note Jazz Club, collaborating with global artists and participating in major festivals. Besides performing with his trio and quartet, he composes solo bass arrangements and teaches worldwide, offering workshops and online lessons that emphasize creativity, expression, and technique.
He currently runs “Andres Rot Bass Lessons,” an educational platform through which he shares his expertise via courses in theory, improvisation, and technique. His work is also featured on Bandcamp and other platforms where he releases both solo and collaborative pieces.
